The Vailsburg Velodrome opened on April 4th 1909. Frank L. Kramer, the National sprint champion, won both professional events.

From "This Day in New York Sports" - 1915 - Floyd MacFarland, 39, a former champion rider and manager of the Velodrome, is killed when the concession manager, David Lantenberg, stabs him in the head with a screwdriver during an argument over posters the latter is mounting at the track. Lantenberg, charged with manslaughter, is acquitted in a Newark court June 23, 1915

The track was badly damaged by fire on September 12th, 1915.
